Leave Your Bucket Where You Left It

By SMC Taylor

Do you realize that most people carry a bucket full of junk around with them every day?  This bucket comes in different sizes and varies from person to person on it’s content.  We take this bucket to work with us, we take it to the grocery store, we take it to work, we take it in the shower and we even sleep with it.

When the bucket becomes too heavy, we try to figure out how we can make it lighter. We put it down so we can go for a long walk in the woods or on the beach. We may go get a massage or go watch a movie. We may go to the gym for a heavy workout. The problem is, when we are done, we pick the bucket up with everything in it. The point to putting your bucket down is to leave it down. To move forward with your life without the burden of feelings you were needlessly carrying around with you everywhere you went.

Next time you feel your bucket becoming too heavy and you find a way to relieve yourself of its burden; put it down, enjoy your activity, and when you are done, don’t pick it up. Just walk away with a smile.
