Walking In The Early Morn, Before The Birds Are Awake!

By SMC Taylor

The new school year began in August and I have been walking for 30 minutes, 2 miles, before I have to take my youngest to school.  I am actually a morning person, so getting up at 5:30 am and out the door by 5:45 is not so bad for me.  I have found that when I come back from my walk, I am ready to get breakfast made, a lunch packed and have a lot of energy doing so!  I have been pretty diligent about this routine and have been feeling great the rest of the day.  Since I work from home, I try to do a few more miles as a break from working. Some days it doesn’t happen, but I can feel good that I at least got my 2 miles in before the sun came up.

If you are a morning person, try getting up a little earlier and hit the pavement before your morning routine.  It may be a little difficult at first, but you will discover your mind and body will get to use to it and it will make you feel better. Just be careful to not scare the birds….they are still sleeping. 🙂
