Let Your Hair Down When You Run!

By SMC Taylor

This morning the temperature was perfect, high 60’s and very low humidity. I decided to run with my hair down, instead of my usual pony tail. Letting my hair down put me in a more carefree attitude!  I noticed all the animals running around, admired pretty landscaped yards and didn’t do any problem solving in my head. I  just enjoyed my foot steps on the pavement! Try to avoid thinking about problems when you exercise, it will interfere with your workout!

I ran a nice, steady run, not fast yet, but a good pace that I knew would help me go farther. Distance is usually better than speed. After a warm up of a half mile, I was able to run  for 1.5 miles without stopping. My endurance is improving! Soon I’ll be back to my 3 mile run and my goal of at least 4 miles on week days!  THE KEY is to keep pushing yourself to do more, a little at a time. My walking a half, running a half, etc. has helped me get stronger and have more endurance.

My running music today, was from a friend, Gareth James, who is South African. He music is very upbeat, with a great sound, and catchy lyrics. He keeps my feet running!  (I have included a YouTube link to his new demo, at the end of this article.) Take a minute to listen to him and feel free to subscribe to his YouTube Channel!

So, if it’s not too hot where you live, Let Your Hair Down When You Run, think happy thoughts and you will truly feel refreshed, and ready for your day!
