Let The Outdoors Organize Your Thoughts!

By SMC Taylor

Organize your thoughts with the outdoors! My husband and I work from home, so we often get out and walk and talk a bit of business while we are getting our steps in!  We have found we are more productive and can organize our thoughts, if we can take a walk before starting our day.  Walking is great for helping your mind figure out a solution for a problem! We have solved many problems and came up with good ideas, for our business, while walking around our neighborhood! It’s amazing how things can come together after a little bit of exercise! This is true for your business life or for personal life.

Recently we have increased our walks from 1 mile to 2 miles at a time. Our goal is to try to do 3 walks a day. We don’t always meet this goal, depending on our work load, but it feels great when we do!  If you set a goal and a schedule for yourself, you will be surprised how many miles you fit in in a week’s time.

Walking is relatively inexpensive way to exercise with very little equipment. All you need is a good pair of walking shoes that give you good support and fit you well. Different brands fit people differently. It’s important to find the right one that fits your foot well.

So set a goal for yourself that coincides with your work schedule and get some miles in! Increase the distance when you feel you are ready for it or you have time. You will know when the time is right for you to increase your miles. When you finish a walk, have energy and not out of breath, try increasing your distance. You can start by adding a quarter of a mile ore at a time. Try the extra distance for a few days, if that feels too easy just add some more distance. The important thing is to just get out and walk!

So let nature organize your thoughts and help you have a healthier you. You will feel refreshed and be very glad you took those steps!

Also take a look at  Walking Backwards it’s a great for your abs and for switching up your walking!
